The Department of Economics invites applications for a faculty position at either the Associate or Full rank, beginning August 2018, in the fields of Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics, International Economics, Labor Economics, Public Economics, Economic Development and/or Industrial Organization. Ph.D. required in economics or related field prior to start of appointment. Candidates must possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison which consist of but not limited to demonstrated high quality research with publications in top tier journals as well as demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.
Duties include the development and teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in field(s) of specialization. Supervise graduate student thesis activities as a recognized scholar in the field. Share in the development of department programs and serve on departmental committees. Develop and publish independent research in nationally and internationally recognized journals which will lead to national recognition. Participate in academic and administrative affairs of the department, direct departmental programs, and, as appropriate, perform university, national or international public service.
This position will also work with the members of the Center for Research on Wisconsin Economy to undertake economic research on issues affecting the state economy, produce in-depth analyses and timely policy briefs drawing on that research, and pursue independent research on issues related to the goals of the Center.
