About the Social Sciences, Economics and Humanities Cluster at UM6P

Founded in 2016, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is a well-funded, non-profit university dedicated to world-class education and cutting-edge research in the physical and social sciences, with a focus on knowledge dissemination and social development in Africa and beyond.

The Social Sciences, Economics, and Humanities Cluster at UM6P unites three entities: the Faculty of Governance, Economics, and Social Sciences (FGSES), offering Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs that attract international students; the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences (AIRESS), focused on research; and the Public Policy School (PPS), providing executive education for public and private sector leaders.

Located in Rabat, a cosmopolitan Atlantic city, these entities share a commitment to advancing Africa’s development and strengthening public policies through expertise and highly skilled professionals.

Job Requirements

The Social Sciences, Economics and Humanities Cluster at UM6P invite applications for multiple full-time faculty positions in Economics at all ranks (Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor). We welcome applicant with a research focus in the following areas, including but not limited to

· Household Behavior and Family Economics (JEL: D1)

· Production and Organizations (JEL: D2)

· General Equilibrium and Disequilibrium (JEL: D5)

· Mechanism Design (JEL: D82)

Applicants must have a PhD degree in relevant fields. Senior academics should have proven teaching record, commitment, experience, and program design, and demonstrated service to the academic community and/or the public.

Job duties and responsibilities include both teaching and research. Ideally, faculty research will align with UM6P’s goal of producing high-quality research, with potential relevance to various international contexts, including the African continent.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Generous research funds, ample laboratory space and excellent research equipment and support will be provided. Appointment to Professor rank and Associate Professor rank will be made on a substantive basis with tenure. Assistant Professor positions follow a standard tenure-track system.

English and/or French are the languages of instruction and administration at FGSES. We welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and diverse backgrounds, including those from Morocco and Sub-Saharan Africa.
